Thurgoona Preschool currently operates five days per week and operates as per the NSW Department of Education school terms (41 weeks per year). The preschool is open between 8.30 and 4pm, with the preschool program operating between 8.30am and 4.00pm for the full day groups and 8.45am to 12.45pm for the 3 year old groups.
As we have two rooms at the preschool, groups are developed with careful consideration to the known needs of the children, parent needs and staffing allocations, to ensure consistency and a positive balance within the groups.
Thurgoona Preschool adheres to the Early Childhood Education and Care Grants Program Priority of Access Guidelines.
The preschool can apply for funding through the Preschool Disability Support Program to assist support individual children with disability or additional needs. These children will have moderate to high needs in relation to learning or the support that enables them to participate and engage in the learning environment, and funding will assist in achieving equitable education outcomes. Funding is application based. It is important that we receive notification of enrolment as soon as possible so we can prepare documents for application.
At Thurgoona Preschool we offer preschool programs for children from three to five years of age.
Our three year old children (who may be turning 4 through the year) currently attend on a Monday or a Friday.
Our four and five year old children attend two days per week. Attendance patterns can vary each year, depending on our waiting list. The four/ five year old sessions are offered firstly to children who are attending school the following year and as per Priority of Access Guidelines.
