Thurgoona Preschool is proudly a community based, not for profit preschool providing a high quality preschool program for children in the Thurgoona and surrounding area. We are partially funded by the NSW Government through the NSW Department of Education. The preschool can also apply for funding to support the inclusion of children with disability or additional needs.
The operation of the preschool is regulated by the Department of Education, through the Early Childhood and Care Directorate. In 2019 our preschool was proudly rated as Exceeding National Quality Standards by ACECQA.
Our preschool was established in 1981 and relocated to the current premises at Bottlebrush Street, Thurgoona in 1992. The preschool is situated at 29 Bottlebrush Street, Corry’s Wood Thurgoona, adjacent to Thurgoona Public School.
In 2012 the preschool expanded to become a two unit preschool enabling us to provide a preschool education to more children from the Thurgoona and local community. We are now licensed to cater for up to 50 children each day. There is a maximum of 25 children attending in each room, with a minimum ratio of one educator to every ten children.
The preschool is set in a beautiful and natural setting, with indoor and outdoor play areas that promote exploration and discovery for the children. The preschool is situated close to local shops, universities and schools and is within walking distance for many preschool families.
We are lucky to work in partnership with Albury City who own our preschool building and assist in the maintenance of our beautiful preschool.
